My 'customised' Meisterklasse chromatic has a brass body . This means that the
instrument is made entirely of plated brass, except for the unplated reeds. At
first I used it with a solid body, later I had some of the brass milled out to
make it lighter. Either way it made no difference to the sound, which was still
so similar to the sound of the original aluminium body that any perceptible
difference (if there really is one) is of academic rather than artistic
significance.
