Kevin Steve Baker's Harp Handbook is great to have--though it's focus is not so much instructional as reference-oriented. It does come with a CD and has exercises in the back, though, and it has excellent sections on harp mechanics, music theory, positions and tuning, and even history. I support you in starting cheap; I learned from Klutz's Harmonica for the Musically Hopeless and practice with a very forgiving guitarist. Have fun. Ben Gallant
