To all,
I just wanted to pass the word on about an upcoming festival in south central Indiana. It's called the Bean Blossom Blues Fest and it takes place June 11-13 in Bean Blossom, Indiana. The harp relevant content is....HEAVY! This event is being put together by John Hall of Harp Depot, so you know there's gonna be plenty of acts featuring our favorite instrument. Featured harpists include Tad Robinson (great vocalist as well), John Weston, Big Al & the Heavyweights, Willie Foster (former Muddy Waters bandmate), Blind Mississippi Morris, Mike Stevens, Snooky Pryor, and R.J. Mischo. As you can see, it's a harp freak's kind of happening! You can bring your lawn chairs and hang out around the wooded amphitheater. There will be harps, CDs, shirts and other music-related stuff for sale. A bonus to those short on cash is the camping that is on location. You can get a spot for as little as ten bucks a night! Tickets to the event are $15 each for Fri and Sat, $10 Sun; or you can get the whole mess for $35. There's a lot more info about this event at the Harp Depot's website: www.harpdepot.com/blues.html I mention this because it seems like not a lot of harp fans are aware of the event. This one is near my hometown and I'd like to see some L-ers out there. A weekend in the midwest woods is a great "get away from it all" opportunity. Disclaimer: Can't say I'm not affiliated with this in any way. My band is playing at the event. I don't care if you come to see us. There's so many great artists to see at the Fest I just wanted to let everyone know. Come and enjoy!
