I've dedicated this weeks Diatonic practice to, 12th Position. So I thought I'd share a great standard with y'all. I watched Sandy Weltman and Carlos Del Junco jam over thi~Chapel Hill and had to learn it! I think I know the guy they learned it from,-)
Next week I'll be doing 8th position...the appropriately chosen tune.... "Nobody knows the trouble I've seen" ~$%^&*()_.-)))
Sweet Georgia Brown
(12th Position aka "1st Flat" aka " Key of F on a C harp" ) Form AAB (also note that 2v~ & 5v are your tonic notes in this position) The alternate line below, can be used if you choose not do use the overdraw, this line is then played one "octave lower". Note that all the hole 2&3 bends on the alternate are 2nd degree bends. (For you singers, this is the line: "Georgi-a named her Georgi-a claimed her...Sweet Georgi-a Brown".-)
