Saw Harmonica John the other day and traded him some amino acids for one of his newest BlackBird Weltmeister harps key of G. It looked nice in its leather container and I began to modify it immediately, first by removing the coverplates and microporing the edges that touch the reedplates. That done, I took out the 3 screws, pasted micropore on the solid plastic comb and cut out the holes with my razor tipped knife. Next I filed smooth the inside of both reedplates (where they touch the comb), deepened the groove where the coverplate touches the reedplate, and smoothed the sharp outside exposed part of the reedplate. Lastly, I filed down all the sharp edges on the brass reedplates and gapped the reeds before I put the cover plates back on, all with my Lee Oskar tool kit. Wow, what a responsive airtight mellow sounding instrument! Took me about 2 hours but now I've got one of the best Gs I've ever played. Thanks HJ, you've got a winner there!
