Subject: Another Bruce

I tried not sending this but all this "Bruce" talk is making me tell you
about another "Bruce," Bruce Springsteen. His concert on September 3 in DC.
was awesome and harmonica heavy. I'm biased in favor of the guy so take that
into account. He played Harmonica on about four of the first six songs.
His playing is in the singer/songwriter/guitarist mode but each display was
perfect for the song and of course, passionate. It was wonderful how he let
the tone of the INSTRUMENT float through the MCI center in true delta blues
fashion. To emphasize the "bluesyness" of his music, he sat the band down
and played some wonderful solo acoustic SLIDE guitar that became "Born in
the USA," normally a raucous anthem of a piece.

The two song jam with Bonnie Rait, Jackson Brown, Shawn Colvin, Mary Chapin
Carpenter, and Bruce Hornsby, towards the end of the concert was a footnote
instead of a highlight. The jam part was funny and disorganized with
guitars and accordions having sound problems just like jams at a bar. This
was adorable.

One more vote for Mr. Willis. If he loves it and has the opportunity, let
him Rock!

Clay
