He was in fact playing with Bob Margolin's band which did have a guy who played bass and harp (though not at the same time, so half of the set was bass-less and sounded terrible). Unfortunately, I didn't catch the gentleman's name; anyone else who knows a bass/harp man who plays with Bob might help me out. It's probably the guy.
Big Bill, by the way, is one seriously big hombre.
Other harp-related observations:
Madcat and Kane were there. They played a strictly acoustic set, and never cease to amaze me. Had the opportunity to meet them very briefly after the show, and they're very nice people, as well.
Final note: There were these two kids roaming around the whole two days of the festival; one with a guitar and one with a case full of Lee Oskars. Both toted mini Pignoses, and they couldn't have been older than ten and eight, respectively. I didn't really hear them playing, but I kept wanting to go up to them and explain what a Gus was, when...
Keb' Mo' was the last act of the festival, and he brought them up on stage. These kids could play. They knew their instruments and could follow the cues and play in the band. Almost creepy, they were so small. This three foot tall kid with corny sunglasses could easily blow away yours truly on the harp.
Most discouraging. Look for my entire harp collection on eBay soon. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Bid and sell for free at http://auctions.yahoo.com
