Hi Jack - Hi Harp-lers, Since the posts were pretty light today I decided to tromp through the archives out of interest. In fact it was Jack's post that gave me the idea. Its a treasure trove.
Through my hunts I found a few good threads on the CX12. Although searching on the same years I found the threads brought up nothing. I remember previous threads earlier this year explaining the limitations of the search engine, and recommended ways of using it.
However, even just trolling through 1993 & 1996 I was astounded how regularly the same sort of threads were covered a number of times, covering the same points. And I realised how redundant or passe my questions may appear to long stayers of harp-l after looking at the discussions been and gone, and back again & again.
So if you've got some time to burn, I would recommend a manual hunt through the years, month by month of the harp-l archives at www.garply.com/harp-l/archives the thread names don't always reflect the content - by working out a few guidelines for yourself as to what to look out for, you can filter through a month reasonably quickly and pick out the useful posts as you go along.
There is a wealth of information in there, and its growing every week.
For those of you who commented on the level of emails from the list: ==========================================The archives start in 1993, with 42 posts total on the first month, February. 181 posts in December 1993 Dec 1994 the list was up to about about 370 posts. Dec 1996 saw 611 posts. Dec 1998 hit an almighty 1665 posts. Last month, 1103 posts. This month is sitting at 1215 including this one, and we have another week to go yet. ========================================== Today I have started working on my synchopating chords and back rhythm thanks to J. Portnoy. I'm finding this quite exciting. His course has taught me a lot in the week I've had this course, and I look forward to what I will acheive when I get each of these techniques down pat. :)
