Cliff -

Huang makes a chromatics: 115, Cadet Soloist (starter model) and 112,
Professional 1248. Both are 12 hole and 3 octave. I play them on
occasion but I find them to have a tinny sound. I also have a minor
problem with the metallic feel and taste when playing them.

I'm a Hohner man myself (no connection disclaimer). There are many
modification people around and some privately made chros but they cost
as much $3000.00.

Harmonicas out of the box are like anything else you buy. Did you ever
buy an item that was supposed to fit all?. . .the perfect elbow pipe
fitting?. . .the exact size waist?. . . and on and on and on . . . When
get the item/s home are they always right? The exact fit, size, shape -
you know how it goes. Why should we think every harmonica will feel,
sound, play, move just the way our old one did? . . . the way you think
it should or would like it to? ( the *you* is the universal you not
you, Cliff).

Use what you like the sound and feel of and modify it to your personal
preference.

Play well!

Bill
