Well, speaking of nicknames . . . You've pretty much read my mind. I
do believe it's time for the annual Harp-L "nickname" thread where we
brush up on the old and anoint the new in nickname-dom amongst us.

As I am the "Bossman," it has been my solemn obligation and privilege
to be the final arbitor on nickname bestow-ance in the many harmonica
circles in which I've circulated through the years.

So, here are a few of the established nicknames that have stuck through
the years, and a few new ones to start things off. All List members are
encouraged to contribute and evaluate prospective harmonica
handles (both old and new):

1) Larry "The Iceman" Eisenberg (the classic)
2) Mike "Brassha'per" Will (bestowed by Howard Levy)
3) Chris "The Buddah" Michalek
4) Allen "Bongo Boy" Holmes
5) Dr. James "Turbo Dog" Antaki (Madcat's idea)
6) Peter "Madcat" Ruth
7) "Joliet" Joe Filisko
8) Jimmy "Dumpster Love" Gordon
9) Jonothan "The Meal Ticket" Ross
10) Robert "Bones" Bonfiglio
11) Steve "That 1 Dude" Grimm
12) Winslow "Swivel Hips" Yerxa
13) Barry "Cottonmouth" Bean
14) Alan "Blackie" Schackner
15) Carlos "The Big Train" del Junco
16) "Professor John" Thaden
17) Michael "The Owner" Polesky
18) Richard "The Deer" Hunter
19) Rich "Duh Rev" Campbell
20) Glen "Bud" Weiser

Best regards-Paul "The Bossman" Messinger/Chapel Hill North Carolina
