You CAN overblow an out-of-the-box Marine Band or Blues Harp without gapping
the reeds, I do it all the time (albeit it's easier and more consistent with
a properly set-up harp).
Now, regarding the first part of the question -- Glen, have you ever
listened to "Harlem Blues" (or any of the other discs) by Satan & Adam?
There are OBs all over the place and, believe me, it sounds nothing like a
chro harp. Great stuff. In a perfect world, no one would be allowed to
disparage OBs' place in the blues until they've listened to this CD (not
that Glen was doing this).
