Yup, that was me, I'll confess. I was getting ready to respond to the earlier request by my fellow Conn. Yankee harper and proud Concert owner Garry Segal about my love of 5751's and to give them a try in his Concert when I just caught this post. I would recommend that any amplified harpers on the list try swapping out 12AX7's with 5751's. They don't cut the gain signifigantly but they have a much smoother tone and a lot less of a feedback prone treble response. My favorites if you can find them are the NOS RCA brand black plate "Command Series" versions. These are absolutely the best sounding pre-amp tubes for harp IMHO. Check the usual NOS tube dealers for them. Command Series 5751's are extremely rare and usually pricey if you can find them. I'm also a fan of late 50's early 60's vintage NOS RCA brand 12AY7's tubes. Another great sounding tube. These were the tubes that Fender used as the first gain stage pre-amp tubes in their tweed amps.
