Several years ago I complained about the same problem and attributed it to the lack of quality of special 20's. Started a nasty thread and deservedly caught alot of grief. Maestro Douglas Tate hurt my feelings terribly when he told me that the problem was most probably[my]improper bending [technique]. Well I sulked for awhile. Later with his help realized that he was correct & with help changed my ways. It has been about 3years or so... have not blown a reed since despite almost constant playing. So, I can relate to your plight but there is hope and help....you are in the right place.
