Just thought I'd post this little bitty to the lot of us all. I've begun playing in a wicked klezmer band this month (upright bass, cittern, fidl, harmonica) and Mike Will's diatonic harp layout generator has been incredibly useful for communication between the fidler and myself, where it regards our being in-tune with/to one another and also for the necessary transposing of fidl-tunes for play on the harmonica.
With the layout generator, I've been able to give the standard musical scales to the fidler for a given harp or harps I use on a particular piece.
She absolutely loves the A#minor scale that works so with a Bb harp.
Much thanks again to Mike for his great diatonic resource, and to all those on the list over the years that have been invaluable in helping me communicate with musicians of other instruments just what the how and why I do what I do on my harps corresponds to theirown approaches on their instruments and in a broad musical manner besides.
