just looking through the lastest american harmonica news (has the debonair buzz krantz on the cover, and the equally dapper harmonica john inside). there's an article there that larry pratt had posted here about a huge harmonica collection owned by alan bates. what i didn't know until last week was that mr. bates lives in my figurative backyard...there was an article on him in the (delaware) news journal, and about how his collection was enroute to a south dakota museum. imagine my disappointment when i learned that a 2000+ piece collection of antique, rare, and unusual harps was twenty minutes or less from my house and i knew nothing of it. evidently he still has all sorts of harp related stuff, and i may try to meet up with him in the next couple of weeks. doubly disappointed that i missed a chance to hook up with harp-ler larry boy pratt.
