Subject: amps

FWIW, I took my amp in to my amp tech yesterday for a minor mod. While he
was doing his work, I played thru three amps he has gone through and brought
up to spec. He has a Kalamazoo Model One (year unknown), a 1962 Fender
tweed
Champ and a Princeton (I didn't get the year). All 3 are really great
sounding harp amps. All 3 are for sale.

This tech lives in Pensacola, Florida and as far as I am concerned he is the
best amp tech in three or four states. He also makes his own line of
effects
pedals.

If anyone is looking for a small vintage harp amp that is solid from the
get-go, these amps will do the job with tone. Contact me off-line and I
will
give you his telephone number so you can speak directly with him. He is not
on internet service.

Naturally, the Champ and the Princeton sounded awesome (as you would expect
them to), but I was impressed with the Kalamazoo as well. This is the only
one I have ever played through and I like the bluesy sound that comes
through. You get a lot of tone for the money with the Kalamazoo. The mic I
was using is a Shure vintage bullet with a controlled magnetic element that
Dennis Grueling set up for me. He had a Silvertone there, but I didn't plug
it in and give it a listen. I know some people have mentioned them on
harp-l. I wish now that I hadn't overlooked it.

All the usual disclaimers apply.
