Subject: amps, sonny terry and song writing

I just taught a seminar in song writing to kids grades 5-12. What a riot.
Each class worte a song and performed it. I noted that the harmonica makes a
good, cheap professional sounding instrument and played a few riffs.

Amp notes: after playing the rebuilt 48 Champ, and the Vox clone, I went
back to play my 70s Bassman-no reverb, no preamp, 15 inch speaker. It sounds
great. Closed back speaker so it doesn't feed back-50 watts so I can play it
at outdoor festivals and be heard. The speaker is heavy but it has wheels. I
bought it years ago for keyboards, with a 2X15 inch speaker cabinet. A
refrigerator sized system for a mere $175.00. Got a Fender 1X15 inch cabinet
because it was lighter. So far, I've liked every amp I played through. I
must be picky. The Montgomery Ward Airline amp doesn't sound too bad either.

Sonny Terry is great-my favorite.
