Pearwood teeth can break easily when sanding combs.Cut little pieces of balsa wood and fit them into the cavities so that the load is distributed along the length of the comb.these can be fitted tight but not so they force the teeth apart.Bits of cardboard box work just as well.If the bits won't stay in place hold them in with a wrapper of micropore tape whilst sanding. This works like a charm on all pearwood combs whether 10,12,or 14 holes and stops a most annoying problem. You can use more pressure with this set up without any danger of the teeth breaking.
