Great answer on Amp Simulators ~G~. Thanks [and to others who responded].
Hey G, 'scuse my ignorance; what will a compressor pedal do for my pre-amp??

I searched the archive a little on this subject today [~LINE 6 POD
PRE-AMP~]and still can't reach a conclusion on if most harp-players use the
POD to tone up an amp- or if some use 'em in performance to go direct in PA.
It would seem [though I didn't really tab the data] that most folks use
them, then go back to an amp for gigs- and take em out of the closet for
occasional studio work. When they first came out some thought that- with the
right tweeking- it'd be all you need on stage. Anyone still feel that way?

Also. Speaking of Al Green and Junior Walker, can anyone help me with this:
I watch Ally McBeal sometimes - but in German. The character, ~Fish~ is
always saying, ~Schwamm darueber~, which means, basically, ~Forget It/Never
Mind~, but, can any USA watchers tell me what he is actually saying? I can't
read his lips [if I tell my wife she might get me the POD].

Hello,
IronMan has been using an old RP100 successfully in live situations with his
harp setup for a while. The RP200 & RP300 offer more harp friendly features
such as the "whammy" effect. Loud, yeah sure.

The RP unit has more effects than the POD, it is cheaper, but the
POD beats everything in the tone emulation department hands
down. >>>>snip
I have had ONE all night LOUD ~outdoor~ session with my POD 2.0 on stage
full bore through the PA >>>
The biggest caveat is: Amp emulators take some education & experiementing
- -but when you figure out how to set them up for any given situation they
can
really sound good.>>>snip
Sometimes a bassman & JT30 are a lot less hassle in the long run.
>>>snipI've also used it with a harp & electric guitar through a mini-mixer
>>>with
good results>>>snip
If you do eventually decide on the POD visit
http://www.angelfire.com/music/HarpOn
And find "Amplified", "POD" in the contents and you can download a bunch of
setups which will get you close to what you want. (Tweed-ified, etc) Perhaps
you could think about a tube preamp into the PA
for your tone & a compressor pedal, or some effects pedal you enjoy.

All the best
G
