References:

I'm looking at a very early Joe Filisko price list, amongst the
offerings are custom brass body and covers for Lee Oskars and Huangs. I
dimly remember that Joe did these. When I first was doing the dance
that lead to an order, lasted a year or so, I played Lee Oskars almost
exclusively. Joe kind of steered me away from the Lee Oskars without
really saying why but he would have done them at that time. Tulsa Reed
has a bunch of those Filiskos with Lee Oskar plates. For me it's
simple, there is a certain sound and set of performance characteristics
I want from my harmonica. Those paramaters are not acheived by a stock
Hohner or Lee oskars in general. fjm
