wishing to hold territory. ====== Robert artfully sidesteps, and parries with,
Thou hath missed mine point [and that's a hefty assumption, to boot-above. Not sure what territory I'd be holding- I play a pretty sloppy chromatic AND diatonic].
But I was referring to threads gone awry [~debates~]. Not making a value judgment on the chromatic/diatonic issue. This quick trigger-thing almost makes my point. Often misunderstanding is generated [and it's not a big deal] only because someone was thinking about a ~chromatic~ issue and was perceived by someone as being a ~diatonic~ issue [or the other way around]. An example would be when a few of us wanted to ~name~ the holes of the diatonic. A person who came-to-harp through chromatic could think, ~Hey. Why not just learn to read music, they already HAVE names?~ And off you go.
But there are lots of examples of this happening. In the end, the process is as helpful is it is irksome. They [such threads]usually end [instead of begin] with statements like, ~Why can't people see it's all music?~ :->
