Subject: Anyone see the special on Long John Baldry?

Hi all,

I was flipping through the channels last night and came to BRAVO (a
Canadian cable channel) and there was a special with Long John
Baldry. LJB was part of the original British Invasion and could be
found with folks like John Mayal, the Yardbirds, the original
Fleetwood Mac, Faces (Rod Stewart) Elton John and more. HE opted not
to take the big recording deal when it was offered and kept playing
clubs and small venues. He use to be around this area a lot many
years back and I often went to see him sing. He had a very nice harp
player on the show last night... one I didn't recognize and the
credits flew past to fast to read (of course) but he was a master at
playing with a band (even a horn section at times) and not stepping
on toes OR being lost in the crowd. He did a great call-&-respond
with Colin James on guitar as well. All the while Long John grinned
from ear to ear obviously loving the music...

Reminded me what playing is all about.
