Subject: Books

Just finished reading, "Make Your Harmonica Work Better," by Douglas
Tate. Tate has a unique ability to write entertainingly about highly
technical details and even convince a reader that some of the hard
work is worth it. (Like making reeds last and last.)

How does book this compare with Blackie Shackner's "State of the Art
Repairs (F&R Farrell Co.) ?" I think you need both: If Shackner wrote
the Bible on the subject, then Tate wrote the Koran.

Don't believe the cover on Tate's book, which makes it look as if it
deals only with diatonics. Check with custse~usicdispatch.com to
order.
