==================I got a letter last night from Alan Bates. Alan has donated his collection
of 2,500 harmonicas to the America's Shrine to Music Museum in Iowa. I
was due to open this collection same time last year but, as we know, events
were unstable then, it didn't happen.

This year they have expanded the opening and Mr Joe Filisko will be
speaking about the early styles of diatonic playing, talk about some of the
early players, and cover the evolution of the Marine Band harmonica - on
which Filisko custom harmonicas are based.

==================Sorry, I forgot to put the date of the opening. September 27th 2002.

The place, so far as I can ascertain is in Vermillion, between Sioux
City Iowa and Sioux Falls, SD. I assume I will be told a little more
accurately nearer the time.!!!
