From: "lists"
Subject: Inspiration : 22 Great Harmonica Performances

As has been mentioned recently, there has been a new Harmonica Compilation
released in France at the end of August. It is entitled "Inspiration" and
subtitled "22 Great Harmonica Performances selected by JJ Milteau".

JJ Milteau himself is not featured, but here's the complete track listing :

1. Toots Thielemans - Gymnopedie n° 1
2. Sonny Terry - Lost John
3. Open House + Mark Graham - Tour de Taille
4. Stevie Wonder - Alfie
5. Big Walter Horton - Christine
6. Hugo Diaz - La Compañera
7. Michel Herblin - Voice
8. Roy Acuff + Jimmie Riddle - Freight Train Blues
9. Sonny Boy Williamson - Trust My Baby
10. Olivier Ker Ourio - Sous le Ciel de Paris
11. J. Geils Band + Magic Dick - Whammer Jammer
12. Phil, John & Pip Murphy - The Ballygow Reel …
13. Greg Szlapczynski - Moody
14. Muddy Waters + James Cotton - You Don’t Have To Go
15. Borrah Minevitch - On The Loose
16. Thierry Crommen - Mellow Man
17. Charlie McCoy - Orange Blossom Special
18. Eric Chafer - Intro
19. Lee Brown + Robert Lee Mc Coy - My Drivin’ Wheel
20. Little Walter - That’s It
21. Larry Adler + Django - Body & Soul
22. DeFord Bailey - Ice Water Blues

Planet Harmonica decided to associate themselves to this release by
providing additional information about these performances for harp players.
You will therefore find a page in English dedicated to the CD here :
http://inspiration.planetharmonica.com/contents.htm As far as I know, the CD is an international release, but each country
branch of Universal may decide to release it or not. I'm trying to be
informed of these national releases and will post them here as I learn of
them.

In the meantime, we have included three online retailers who carry the CD
and you may purchase it from whichever you prefer.

Any queries or comments are welcome. I have no financial interest in the
sale of this compilation, obviously, but I would like to add that this is
the best harmonica compilation I have ever heard. The variety of styles,
sounds and eras is as comprehensive as could be imagined, and it does not
equate harmonica with blues, even though worthy blues performances are
featured.
