Subject: Chromatic harp problem

Hello all,

First post for me since re-joining the list after a long absence. Looks
like the old gang is still here. Now on to the issue at hand. I received
a Hohner Super 64 for Christmas this year, but already it's having some
troubles. I'm not the most knowledgeable chromatic guy on the planet so
please bear with me. Several of the lowest blow notes are buzzing - likely
from the little plastic flap that covers the reed (what is that for
anyway?). I've always noticed this on my old 270, but figgered it was due
to it's age and mistreatment. Also, it seems to require a LOT more air to
play than the 270, even in the middle register. Some of the high notes
don't play at all. Are all these things expected? Lastly, do I need to be
concerned with overplaying the harp, bending notes, etc? Will this cause
harm? Don't want to ruin my new toy!
